Minimum Requirements and Settings

 

Operating System Requirements

The Electronic HMIS Consumer Guide is ONLY designed for the Windows operating

system:

• Windows 98

• Windows NT 4.0

• Windows 2000 Professional or higher

• Windows XP (either Home or Professional editions)

 

PC Requirements

The Electronic HMIS Consumer Guide operates best on systems with at least:

• Pentium II processor and higher

• 64MB of RAM or more

• 40MB of free hard disk space or more

 

Screen Settings

In order to view all of the information presented on the screens, the resolution of your

monitor must be set to a minimum of 1024 x 768 pixels. You can adjust the resolution

settings of your screen:

1. Minimize all applications

2. Right click in the middle of the main window of your desktop. Be careful not to

have the mouse pointer over an icon.

3. Choose “Properties”

4. Choose the tab called “Settings”

5. On the “Settings” tab drag the bar saying “Screen Resolution” or “Screen Area” to

the right until it reads 1024 x 768

6. Click the “Apply” button

7. If a message appears, click “OK” Electronic HMIS Consumer Guide

 

Installation

 

1. Download the eHMISConsumerGuide.exe file to your hard drive. Remember to

write down the location of the file at the time of download. You will need this for

step 2.

2. Use Windows Explorer or My Computer to locate the file called

eHMISConsumerGuide.exe and double-click the eHMISConsumerGuide.exe file

icon to extract. Remember to write down the location of the file at the time of

extraction. You will need this for step 3. The default extraction location is

c:\temp.

3. Use Windows Explorer or My Computer to locate the file called Setup.exe in the

extraction location and double-click the Setup.exe file icon.

 

Configuration During Setup

4. Accept the default options for installation.

Running / Starting

5. Once the installation is completed, to run the Electronic HMIS Consumer Guide

click once on the Windows “Start” button and select “Programs”

6. Within the many Programs listed you will find a new selection called Electronic

HMIS Consumer Guide

7. Select the Electronic HMIS Consumer Guide option and click once to run the

application

 

Uninstalling / Removing

1. Click once on the Windows “Start” button and select “Settings” and “Control

Panel”

2. Double-click “Add/Remove Programs”

3. Scroll down, find, and select Electronic HMIS Consumer Guide

4. Click once on “Change/Remove”
