Mission

The Center for Democracy and Development (CDD) is dedicated to advancing democracy, rule of law, and economic and social development in post-communist and other transitional areas abroad.

Working with local partners, CDD focuses on strengthening local government and civil society; promoting viable, independent media; helping judiciaries become more effective and more transparent; assisting in conflict reduction; and promoting greater educational and economic opportunities.

CDD has conducted multiple, highly effective, rule of law, judicial reform, media development, and educational exchange and training programs, and has built effective, on-going partnerships with foreign universities, Courts and judicial associations, development agencies, NGOs, and citizens groups.
